This essay film explores nostalgia as created memories. It is a remembrance of what we have not lived yet, a yearning for what we would not live, a desire to be a different "persona" living a strange familiarity. But how can we be others if what we think is what we are? What if we can be others? Would that erase what we believe now? If we can be others, is it nostalgia, a deja vu of who we were during that second we wanted to be a new us?
Look at The Clouds is a hybrid film essay and music video composed of archival footage of family trips, public domain movies, and science and nuclear defense reels.
